The one man she can’t trust

Two hundred years have passed since Anna Randal gave herself to Conde Cezar in a night of relentless passion. Since then, Anna has become filled with unearthly power she can’t begin to comprehend. And the sexy, charming vampire responsible has eluded all of her efforts to track him down, until now. . .

Is the only one

Cezar’s blissful encounter with Anna cost him two centuries of penance. But one thing hasn’t changed – his body’s response to her is as urgent as ever. Now, commanded by the Oracles to keep watch over Anna, Cezar finds himself torn between his need to protect her – and to possess her . . .

Who can keep her safe

Someone wants Anna dead. And as an ancient enemy prepares to wage a terrifying battle, Anna must decide whether to succumb to a dark, burning desire – and accept a destiny that could change the world forever. . .

My Thoughts:

I have really enjoyed Alexandra Ivy’s Guardians of Eternity Series. There is something very compelling about her vampire heroes – Dante, Viper and Styx. Fortunately, the hero of Darkness Revealed, Conde Cezar, is a very worthy addition to this group. I absolutely adored him – as well as the heroine, Anna Randal.

Anna and Cezar actually met one hundred ninety five years ago. The meeting was rather unforgettable for both. Anna lost her virginity and some of her blood to the vampire. Cezar learned quickly that he was to be punished by the Oracles for his actions against Anna. The Oracles made Cezar their servant. Anna, meanwhile, believed that Cezar had abandoned her. She also came to blame him when she realized shortly thereafter that she wasn’t quite human. She had stopped aging, and thought that Cezar had caused it. Meanwhile, Cezar also realized that he was now incapable of having sex.

When the two meet for the second time, it is because Cezar has been charged by the Oracles to keep Anna safe. She is extremely important to the Oracles and is also in grave danger. Anna doesn’t know most of this, however. She believes that she has cornered Cezar in order to be able to get some answers. The two immediately find that they are still attracted to each other. Cezar discovers that he isn’t incapable of sex in general, just with women who aren’t Anna. As you can imagine, he is rather anxious to renew his intimate acquaintance with Anna. Anna is rather confused. She is unaware of the demon world – and doesn’t know what to make of the world she is just now discovering. This gets rather complicated when it becomes clear that someone wants her dead.

Throughout the rest of the story, Anna has to come to terms with the fact that she is a powerful being who is destined to battle Morgana Le Fey, that she is in love with Cezar, and that she has another destiny about which everyone but her seems to know. It is a good thing she has Cezar to help – and his vampire friends. I was glad to see that Levet, the gargoyle was back. He is one of my favorite characters from this series.

I think that Darkness Revealed is my favorite of the books in this series so far. I have enjoyed the all, but there was something so intense between Cezar and Anna. I couldn’t put this book down once I started it. I was glad to have met Jagr, who will be the hero of the next book in the series. I will definitely put that one on my list of must buys.
