My Thoughts:

I enjoyed this book so much that I went out to the bookstore shortly after I finished reading it to buy the other two books in the series. I found it a very quick and easy read. In fact, I ready Kiss of Crimson, Kiss of Midnight and Midnight Awakening all in one day. The vampire lore was quite easy to follow – nothing too complicated. And, I enjoyed all of the characters that the author created.

In this book, Dante is out hunting Rogue vampires – vampires that have been overcome with Bloodlust and kill at will. However, he encounters some very dangerous vampires and ends up badly wounded. Dante makes his way to Tess Culver’s veterinarian clinic. Tess tries to help patch Dante up. However, he ends up drinking from Tess to help heal himself and ends up bonded to Tess – for life. Tess, it turns out, is a Breedmate –  a woman who bears a specific birthmark that marks her as a potential vampire mate. By drinking her blood, Dante has taken Tess as his mate.

Dante has some other important issues with which he must deal. There is a new drug, called Crimson, that turns vampires into Rogues. Tess is connected to the drug’s manufacturer, which puts her in danger. As Dante fights with his brethren to destroy the new drug, he and Tess face danger. Of course along the way, Dante has explain to Tess that he is a vampire and that she is his Breedmate. I thought that Dante and Tess made a great couple. I thoroughly enjoyed their relationship – and their vampire world.
