The Mediterranean Billionaire’s Secret Baby – Diana Hamilton

Hamilton, Diana. The Mediterranean Billionaire’s Secret Baby. (New York: Harlequin, 2007). ISBN – 9780373126729.

Main Characters: Francesco Mastroianni and Anna Maybury

Description of the book:

She’s carrying his baby – so she will be his bride!

Italian billionaire Francesco Mastroianni was captivated by Anna. But their passionate affair was cut short when Anna’s father attempted to blackmail Francesco into marrying her.

Seven months later, Francesco is shocked to see Anna again. She’s struggling to make ends meet and she’s visibly pregnant! If she’s carrying the Mastroianni heir, that can mean only one course of action for Francesco: marriage!

My Thoughts:

This was a decent story – I enjoyed reading it. I generally like reading series romances because they don’t take much time to read. In this story, Anna met Francesco while on holiday. She didn’t realize that he was rich. They had an affair – and he followed her home. While Anna didn’t know who Francesco was, her father did. When Francesco arrived at Anna’s home, her father attempted to swindle money out of him – a fairly common occurrence at the Maybury home. However, by chance, he runs into Anna several months later – a very pregnant Anna. As usually happens in series romance, Francesco bullies Anna into becoming his wife – and eventually comes to realize that Anna was not responsible for her father’s schemes. The one thing that irritated me about the story was Anna’s family. Her father is odd – and he doesn’t seem to realize how he came between Anna and Francesco until the end of the book. I wouldn’t be so keen if this guy had been my father.
